Critics said Ocasio-Cortez exaggerated the danger she was in, noting that she was not in the Capitol building breached by rioters, but a nearby office building.

Viewers who tune in to the far-right One America News Network on Friday will see a right-wing pillow impresario’s take on how the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump. OAN is airing MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell’s two-hour disinfomercial on the subject, “Absolute Proof,” four times over the course of the day, making it the bulk of the channel’s programming from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET.
OAN’s credulous airing of a series of deranged election fraud conspiracy theories marks the latest salvo in a fierce competition between OAN and fellow right-wing cable channels Fox News and Newsmax as they vie for Lindell’s affections and his advertising dollars. The networks, which have all been sued or threatened with lawsuits for pushing false claims about the election, are risking additional legal exposure to win the pillow fight.

Some in conservative media have challenged Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) over her claims regarding the riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, saying that she was not technically in the actual U.S. Capitol building but in a nearby House office building.
RedState and One America News Network (OANN) reporter Jack Posobiec, as well as the Daily Wire, have published reports stating that Ocasio-Cortez was not actually in the Capitol. While they are technically correct she was in a nearby office building Ocasio-Cortez is also correct when she says these reports are misleading, as they are “manipulating the fact that most people don’t know the layout the Capitol complex.”

One America News Network slammed its rival Newsmax for censoring Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, during a Thursday segment.
Anchor Mike Dinow accused Newsmax of playing into viral cancel culture by trying to subdue conservative voices during the right-wing news outlet s morning broadcast. It has become a disturbingly familiar series of events in recent weeks, added Jenn Pellegrino, OAN s White House correspondent.

The criticism by OAN of Newsmax was noteworthy as both conservative networks battle for power and influence in the post-Trump era.
Media Matters highlighted the split on Twitter.
