One America News Network producer Marty Golingan was fired after speaking to The New York Times for a piece that ran over the weekend and criticized his employer.
He confirmed the news on Twitter, retweeting a Times journalist who reported his firing.
A representative for OAN did not immediately return a request from comment on Golingan’s employment.
In a Times piece from the weekend that looked at the cable network’s rightward turn and its role in shaping and echoing conservative talking points before and after the Capitol riot in January, Golingan took a harsh stance against the channel.

PHOENIX Almost six months after the presidential election, a Republican-commissioned audit of Maricopa County’s presidential vote will begin Monday.
The audit, which grew out of Arizona Republican lawmakers’ effort late last year to toss out Joe Biden’s victory in the state, is being led, funded and cheered on by people who believe the Arizona vote was stolen from former President Donald Trump.

The article, written by Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Rachel Abrams, focused on how OAN has increased coverage favoring Donald Trump. Abrams also broke the news of Golingan s dismissal on Twitter. She wrote the following on Monday: UPDATE: One America News has fired Marty Golingan, who told us staffers don t think many of OAN s stories are true. I ve given up my journalistic integrity already, and to be fired, that would make me feel good, he had told me. I would wear it like a badge of honor.

Months after the inauguration of President Biden, One America News Network, a right-wing cable news channel available in some 35 million households, has continued to broadcast segments questioning the validity of the 2020 presidential election.
“There’s still serious doubts about who’s actually president,” the OAN correspondent Pearson Sharp said in a March 28 report.
