NEARLY 60% respondents in a survey said they will be skipping the tradition of tossing yee sang this year, reported Sin Chew Daily.
In a survey within the daily’s interactive game “Pandemic New Year, Are You Ready?”, respondents were asked if they were willing to risk coming in close contact with others by tossing yee sang.
Out of 1,576 participants, 59.5% chose the option “will be declining the yee sang ceremony to protect my health and those around me”.
But 22.7% said they could not do away with the tradition and would continue observing it.
