Daesh militants kill at least 37 Syrian soldiers in bus ambush

A UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said that Daesh militants in eastern Syria have attacked a bus, killing at least 37 Syrian soldiers, in one of the deadliest attacks since the fall of their caliphate last year.
Local media said the bus was targeted on Wednesday in the restive Deir Al Zour province.

According to Deir Ezzor residents and intelligence sources quoted by Reuters, there has been a rise in recent months of ambushes and hit-and-run attacks by Daesh militants who hide in caves in the mainly desert region.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Turkish-backed local council of Ras al-Ain (Serekaniye) on Monday issued a new resolution that stipulates the local government will offer identification cards for Iraqi refugees living in Ras al-Ain (Serekaniye).
The rocket attack mounted early Wednesday targeted an air defence facility in rural Damascus, it added.
The agency said that the Syrian air defence systems had intercepted “some rockets” that also caused material damage.
The Israeli strikes destroyed missile warehouses belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah movement and Iran-allied militias in the area of Al Zabadani country north west of Damascus, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.
The area is a Hezbollah hub for transferring weaponry into neighbouring Lebanon, according to the monitor.
The attack also targeted a Syrian regime air defence battalion in the area, killing one soldier and injuring five others, the observatory added.

A Syrian soldier was killed and five others were wounded today in Israeli missile strikes on a military target near Damascus,
Sana has reported. A military source revealed that missiles were fired from northern Galilee against a Syrian air defence unit in the Nabi Habeel area.
According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the strikes targeted Hezbollah rocket and ammunition depots in a mountainous area near the town of Zabadani close to the Lebanese border, destroying them and causing casualties. Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman said that pro-Iran groups use the mountains around Zabadani to store weapons and ammunition prior to transporting them to Lebanon.

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The Russian Defense Ministry on Sunday called on all parties to cease shelling near the Syrian town of Ain Issa, the Russian state news agency Sputnik has reported.
Rear Adm. Vyacheslav Sytnik, deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry’s center for Syrian reconciliation, called on both the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Turkish-backed groups to stop their shelling during a press conference on Sunday.
“We have noted the unstable situation in the Ain Issa region. Earlier, during talks with the Turkish side, agreements were reached concerning the establishment of joint Russian-Syrian posts,” Sytnik stated.
