March 2021 - 17:21 STATEMENT OF INTENT FOR ENHANCING COOPERATION BETWEEN ESTONIA AND THE UNITED KINGDOM The close friendship between Estonia and the United Kingdom has flourished since the Royal Navy lent its support to Estonia in the 1918-1920 War of Independence. This close partnership, with shared values and common goals, has grown stronger decade by decade since the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations on January 26, 1921. As we celebrate this centenary year, our two countries will work together to take a forward looking and comprehensive approach to strengthen our relationship through joint bilateral, regional and international incentives. Following the UK’s exit from the EU, we will deepen the collaboration that is already well-established, and seek out new areas for co-operation.
