Rare pale yellow king penguin photographed for the first time near Antarctica

They are so common that you can also see them at the Jurong Bird Park. However, a wildlife photographer has captured what is believed to be the first photograph of a rare pale king penguin with yellow markings near the Antarctica. Yellow penguin Belgian photographer Yves Adams literally struck gold when the strange-looking penguin walked up straight in his direction amidst the chaos of sea elephants and Antarctic fur seals and 120,000 other birds on the beach. On Feb. 18, he shared his pictures on Instagram, which have amassed over 25,000 likes and over 1,000 comments at the time of writing. Adams had embarked on a two-month expedition with a team to the Antarctica peninsula when they stopped on an island in South Georgia.

Strange pale penguin : rare yellow and white bird discovered among king penguins in Atlantic

Last modified on Mon 1 Mar 2021 03.41 EST A pale yellow-feathered king penguin spotted among hundreds of thousands of animals crammed on to a beach in South Georgia has sent the nature-loving world into a frenzy. Belgian photographer Yves Adams was on a two-month expedition to the Antarctic peninsula when he captured the unusually-coloured penguin. The conditions on the remote South Georgia beach were “wild”, Adams said. Exposed, and in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean, the swell of the water and the intensity of the wind made it difficult for his team to prepare a landing. In front of them was a 1km strip of beach, home to a “minefield of animals”.

Mary Anning was an impoverished, self-taught fossil hunter whose remarkable discoveries paved the way for modern paleontology. Through her carefully documented finds, she expanded human knowledge of ancient life, although until recently her work was overlooked or dismissed due to her gender and social status.  Early years Mary Anning was born in 1799 in the seaside resort town of Lyme Regis, England. The town, which billed itself as a budget alternative to resorts such as Bath, had one other feature going for it: its coastline.
