Colorado startup developing supersonic plane
Boom Supersonic, a Colorado-based startup working on a new supersonic aircraft, is raising a $50 million funding round that will bring the companyâs valuation to more than $1 billion, according to chief executive Blake Scholl. The plane is still in the design phase, with a scaled-down prototype scheduled to fly next year. Boom plans to break ground on a factory for full-scaled aircraft in 2022. If it can stick to its schedule, it could start a test flights for its first commercial plane by 2026. Introduction
Driven by the Coronavirus pandemic, extreme volatility on the financial markets in early 2020 led to lenders and financial institution counterparties issuing a significantly increased number of margin calls under facilities governed by English law. Due to the rapid devaluation in the collateral held under such facilities, including margin lending facilities and ISDA-governed transactions, these margin calls typically demanded significant amounts of cash or additional collateral within a very short space of time, in order to cover a lender’s or counterparty’s exposure. As happened in the 2008 financial crisis, this environment has led to disputes crystallising over the validity of these margin calls, collateral valuations, the validity of parties’ acceleration and termination rights for missed margin calls, and the sale of collateral in enforcement actions.

LONDON, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) The UK Supreme Court on Wednesday gave the green light to plans for a third runway at London Heathrow airport, overturning an earlier judgment in February.
The new ruling clears the way for the runway to go ahead in a huge boost for the beleaguered aviation industry, so the firms behind Heathrow can now seek planning permission for the runway, which still faces huge controversy from environmental organizations.
Britain s Court of Appeal blocked this multi-billion-dollar plan in February, citing the British government s failure to adequately take into account climate change commitments.
