The chairman of Torridge District Council is encouraging people to celebrate this year’s Commonwealth Day.
Council chairman councillor David Brenton is hoping by coming together to celebrate the day ‘we send out a message of hope and solidarity and a knowledge that working collectively we can achieve a brighter future’.
Last year’s Commonwealth Day fell in the pre-covid period and just a week or so before the country went into the first phase of Lockdown to control the spread of a little-known virus, Covid-19.
