Two Indian men being held in a detention van on suspected immigration offences walked free with the help of a human rights lawyer after an eight-hour protest by their neighbours in the Scottish city of Glasgow.
Sumit Sehdev, a chef, and Lakhvir Singh, a mechanic, both in their 30s, have reportedly been in the UK for 10 years.

An immigration van has been surrounded by protesters to block it from leaving a Glasgow street.
One man is lying under the vehicle, on Kenmure Street in Pollokshields, while hundreds of people sit around the van and stand on the road.
Some of the protesters were heard shouting let our neighbours go .
Police Scotland said a number of its officers had been called to the south side of the city to support the UK Border Agency.

Glasgow residents are involved in a tense standoff with immigration officials after surrounding their van in a residential street to prevent the detention of individuals during Eid al-Fitr.
Staff from UK Immigration Enforcement are believed to have swooped on a property in Pollokshields, on the Southside of Glasgow, early on Thursday morning and detained a number of people.
A crowd of about 200 protesters surrounded their vehicle, preventing it from driving away, and chanting “these are our neighbours, let them go”, with one protester lying under the van to prevent it driving off.
A heavy Police Scotland presence is also reported at the scene.
