A Christmas Eve deal many thought might never come. European and British negotiators have, after nine months, agreed on a mammoth free-trade deal covering a value of £660 billion ($894.76 billion).
“The clock is no longer ticking,” declared Michel Barnier, the EU’s chief negotiator who has labored for four years on these deals, and waded through all the psychodramas and bitter rows. It was too big a negotiation to fail, and in the end no leader wanted to be blamed for seeing it crash.
Stuart Murdoch and I are happy to talk on the phone. We’re glad we can’t see each other. My hair is wet from the bath and plastered to my forehead and he is, by his own admission, a “periless slob.”
This is because he’s home in Glasgow celebrating the holidays (he bought his wife a faux fur coat and gold wellingtons for Christmas, which are cool and glamorous gifts, and I am admittedly jealous), preparing for a big tour, and getting ready for the release of Belle and Sebastian’s upcoming record,

New Covid-19 variant
The fact that it is more contagious is enough justification for the abundance of prudence being shown
December 23, 2020
The United Kingdom has been isolated by the neighbouring European countries as well as a lot of others in other continents. Reason? A highly infectious strain of the Covid-19 coronavirus has been detected in the UK. Pakistan has joined the burgeoning list of countries that have placed restrictions on travellers from the kingdom. Flights from Britain have already been suspended by several European and Middle Eastern countries, as well as Canada, India and Hong Kong. The French even closed their border for goods trucks, meaning that supply shortages of some products may well be on the horizon. Meanwhile, even Northern Ireland a component country of the UK is mulling closing the internal border with the rest of Britain.

Warner Bros. is using Wonder Woman 1984 to push HBO Max, but what about in countries where the streaming service isn’t an option? Early rentals may be the answer. WW84 will be available for 48-hour digital rentals in the UK and Ireland on January 13th, just under a month after the movie’s December 16th theatrical debut in the country. The movie will still be in theaters past that date.
The studio didn’t say which services would carry Wonder Woman 1984, but it should be available through multiple outlets. The possible options include Amazon Prime Video, Apple’s TV app, Google Play and UK-specific outlets like BT TV and TalkTalk TV. We don’t know if other movies will follow this route.

It’s also uncertain if other movies will follow this route, although it’s possible when Warner Bros. said all its 2021 movies would debut on HBO Max in the US.
