An opportunity for Gwynedd businesses and organisations to apply for cash from the UK Community Renewal Fund. The UK Government has set up an UK Community Renewal Fund with a budget of £220 million for 2021/22 only. Local areas such as Gwynedd can submit applications of up to £3 million to the Fund with a suggestion that individual applications should be in the region of £500,000 with the potential for smaller applications to come together under the guidance of one partner to apply for financial support. Cllr Gareth Thomas, Gwynedd Council s Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: Business groups, voluntary or community groups and education providers including colleges or universities can apply for funding under the themes of investment in skills, local businesses and communities and places as well as supporting people into employment.

Businesses and organisations on Anglesey have until Friday, April 30, to apply for a share of the new UK Community Renewal Fund. Anglesey is one of only 100 areas in the UK that is eligible to apply for this £220 million funding pot. The Isle of Anglesey County Council is administering the new funding provided by the UK Government to support local areas in preparation of the launch of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in 2022. THURROCK Council is calling for applications to the £220 million UK Community Renewal Fund. The Government Fund aims to support organisations that wish to bring forward new imaginative ideas and innovative approaches that improve skills, support local businesses and communities, and enhance employment opportunities for Thurrock residents. The council has been designated as a lead authority by the Government for local applications. Applicants can include business groups, the voluntary sector, community organisations, and local education providers. Bids should build on local insight and knowledge, and align with long-term local growth plans, supporting community renewal and residents most in need. Up to £220 million of funding will be allocated to successful project bids across the UK and the council will be able to submit a shortlist of projects up to a total value of £3million to Government for approval.

Flintshire council facilitating the bidding process for a share of UK community funds

FLINTSHIRE Council is inviting organisations to submit applications which could be included in its bid for a £3 million share of the UK Government’s Community Renewal Fund. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak MP announced the one-year UK Community Renewal Fund (UK CRF) in his 3 March budget. The intention is that this will be used to pilot new approaches to move away from the EU Structural Funds, in preparation for the introduction in 2022/23 of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Flintshire Council, like many other local authorities, will play a key role in facilitating this new fund. As well as inviting applications, the council will also be responsible for appraising and selecting bids and, if successful, issuing the funding to applicant organisations and monitoring their delivery and performance.

Neath Port Talbot Council to lead bidding process for new £3m community fund

Neath Port Talbot Council is to work with local applicants to develop bids for the area s £3m share of the new UK Community Renewal Fund. The fund, announced by Chancellor Rishi Sunak in his March 3 budget, will be administered nationally by the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government. At a local level, councils like Neath Port Talbot are responsible for leading the bidding process with the most deprived parts of the country prioritised for funding. Neath Port Talbot has been categorised as one of 100 priority funding places in the UK. The UK Government says individual bids can be submitted up to a scale of around £500,000 and projects should be delivered by March 31, 2022.
