Lieutenant General Roly Walker DSO Contents Biography Lieutenant General Roly Walker was commissioned into the Irish Guards in 1993 before joining the 22nd Special Air Service Regiment in 1997. He then exchanged his commission to the Grenadier Guards in 2009, before being promoted into the General Staff in 2011. His last appointment was as Director Special Forces. He took up his current position as Deputy Chief of Defence Staff (Military Strategy & Operations) at the MOD on promotion in April 2021.
