After host Ben Shephard pushed the minister on whether the Government would make a U-turn on the matter, the conversation quickly moved onto Test and Trace and the findings that it had no clear impact on the pandemic. Co-host Kate Garraway then took the chance to stick it to the MP over the Government s upcoming vaccine documentary which has divided opinions on whether the film is appropriate.

Advertisement Downing Street is under growing pressure to spell out how much taxpayers money was spent on the Government s 30-minute documentary on the UK s coronavirus vaccine roll-out.  Critics have labelled the video, entitled A Beacon of Hope: The UK Vaccine Story , a piece of expensive government propaganda after a trailer for the film was unveiled.     Number 10 today insisted the documentary has been made by its in-house social media team at absolutely no additional cost for the taxpayer .  But there are questions over how many staff worked on the project, how many hours they spent on it and what the total budget is of the social media team as critics said the film was a waste of time and money and argued the Government should be focused on promoting public health messages or giving nurses a bigger pay rise.

Glitzy No 10 film about UK s vaccination programme attacked as expensive propaganda

A glitzy No 10 film hailing the success of the UK’s vaccination programme has been attacked as “expensive propaganda”, with the taxpayer picking up the bill. Labour demanded that the government “come clean” about the cost of the project, after Downing Street issued a 50-second trailer – with the words “Coming Soon”. The film features the advisers who have become household names through the Covid-19 crisis, including Chris Whitty, Patrick.
