In the emails it is revealed that Freeh actually met with the sitting VP in 2016 to explore with him some future work options, in addition to courting his son Hunter for collaboration. Both the New York Post and the UK Daily Mail have published excerpts from the letters, though as of this writing, neither the Washington Post nor New York Times appear to have found the gift and emails worth mentioning.
