Biography
Kate English and Tom Matlock share the job of Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Tripoli. Prior to taking up the role in April 2021, they were joint Deputy Heads of Mission at the British Embassy in Tunis.
Before coming to Tunis, Kate worked as Private Secretary for an FCO Minister. Much of her career to date has been focused on the region, including as Head of the Foreign Office’s Egypt Team following the Arab Spring and as Second Secretary Political in the British Embassy in Khartoum. Kate has also been posted to Seoul as Head of Press and Public Affairs.
