Neptune Energy has announced a collaboration with the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) to test a “first of its kind” approach for measuring oil and gas methane emissions from offshore oil and gas facilities.
As part of the collaboration, the EDF will coordinate a team of international researchers - which includes Scientific Aviation, a provider of airborne emissions sensing, and Texo DSI, a UK-based drone platform provider - to evaluate methods for quantifying facility-level offshore methane emissions, identify key sources, and prioritize mitigation actions, Neptune outlined.

The Company s Core Project targets a gross 2P peak production rate of 140 MMcfe/d (c. 24,000 Boe/d) from gross 2P gas Reserves of 302 Bcfe¹ + 2C gas Contingent Resources of 108 Bcfe², via an efficient hub strategy. In addition to the independently verified 2P reserves at Blythe, Elgood, Southwark, Nailsworth and Elland and 2C Contingent Resources at Goddard, IOG also has independently verified best estimate gross unrisked prospective gas resources of 73 Bcfe² at Goddard. Alongside this IOG has management estimated mid-case recoverable gas volumes of 21 Bcfe at Harvey. In December 2020 IOG also accepted a 50% operated stake in Licence P2589, containing the Panther and Grafton gas discoveries with management estimated 46 Bcfe and 35 Bcfe respectively. UK: Neptune Energy awards USD6.5M contracts for Cygnus gas facility

Neptune Energy has announced the award of integrity management and fabric maintenance contracts for its operated gas production platform,
Cygnus, to
Stork, to the value of approx. $6.5 million.
Oceaneering will supply integrity management services covering pressure systems, structural, pipeline, erosion management and offshore inspection services. Oceaneering will work closely with Stork which will deliver fabric maintenance and scaffolding services for Cygnus, located in the UK Southern North Sea.
The contracts have been awarded under a three-year agreement, with two one-year options to extend.
