Cardigan town centre Two new funds will be made available to support projects that invest in Ceredigion s businesses, communities and infrastructure A Levelling up Fund and a Community Renewal Fund will be provided by the UK Government, and administered by Ceredigion County Council. The funds intend to help with projects that focus on investing in Ceredigion and developing the skills of its residents. The Levelling up Fund (LUF) will invest in infrastructure that improves everyday life across the UK, said a Council spokesperson. That includes regenerating town centres and high streets, upgrading local transport, and investing in cultural and heritage assets.
THURROCK Council is calling for applications to the £220 million UK Community Renewal Fund.
The Government Fund aims to support organisations that wish to bring forward new imaginative ideas and innovative approaches that improve skills, support local businesses and communities, and enhance employment opportunities for Thurrock residents.
The council has been designated as a lead authority by the Government for local applications. Applicants can include business groups, the voluntary sector, community organisations, and local education providers. Bids should build on local insight and knowledge, and align with long-term local growth plans, supporting community renewal and residents most in need.
Up to £220 million of funding will be allocated to successful project bids across the UK and the council will be able to submit a shortlist of projects up to a total value of £3million to Government for approval.
FLINTSHIRE Council is inviting organisations to submit applications which could be included in its bid for a £3 million share of the UK Government’s Community Renewal Fund. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rishi Sunak MP announced the one-year UK Community Renewal Fund (UK CRF) in his 3 March budget. The intention is that this will be used to pilot new approaches to move away from the EU Structural Funds, in preparation for the introduction in 2022/23 of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Flintshire Council, like many other local authorities, will play a key role in facilitating this new fund. As well as inviting applications, the council will also be responsible for appraising and selecting bids and, if successful, issuing the funding to applicant organisations and monitoring their delivery and performance.
