New Austria-registered airline will take over operating intra-EU cargo flights from DHL Air UK, which will evolve into more of an intercontinental carrier
DHL Express is restructuring its European air network management in a series of changes that have been prompted by Brexit – which leaves UK-registered cargo airlines such as DHL Air UK unable to operate intra-EU cargo flights from the start of next year.
Under the changes, a new Austria-registered airline will take over operating intra-EU cargo flights from DHL Air UK, which will evolve into more of an intercontinental carrier. DHL Air Austria will take over operating 18 of DHL Air UK’s B757 freighters, with five remaining on the UK register to operate UK domestic and UK-EU flights.

UK regulators have banned operations by all Belarusian carriers until further notice, in response to the diversion incident involving a Ryanair flight forced to land in Minsk.
The Civil Aviation Authority states that it is suspending all foreign carrier permits held by Belarusian airlines.
This will apply to the flag-carrier, Belavia, which carries out scheduled services to London Gatwick, as well as to charter operators.
All UK-registered carriers are also being asked to avoid overflying Belarusian territory, the CAA adds.
Operators in Belarus include cargo carriers RubyStar Airways and Transaviaexport.
Belavia states that the Lithuanian government has similarly banned the carrier’s flights to the Baltic state, and it has cancelled its Vilnius services from 25 May.
