Plight of refugees gets more and more hapless 28 Dec 2020 Bangladesh intends to move some of the Rohingya refugees to an island which is highly prone to flooding. If there is one breed of people whose position shows no sign of improvement, it is the refugees. Be it in Bangladesh or Lebanon, their predicament seems precarious as they get tossed around from place to place – homeless, hapless, helpless. Bangladesh is set to move a second batch of Rohingya refugees from neighbouring Myanmar to the remote island of Bhasan Char in the Bay of Bengal this month, officials said on Sunday, despite calls by rights groups not to carry out further relocations.

SHARE A former British foreign secretary has revealed he received a Christmas present from Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe who is detained in Iran over espionage charges. Jeremey Hunt was given a handmade mask from the British-Iranian captive as efforts to reunite her with her husband Richard and daughter Gabriella in the UK continue. Mr Hunt said he also received a message which said: “Life is precious, please look after yourself and wear a mask. One man has been arrested and another was photographed being dragged from the road after lying down in front of a lorry which was trying to leave. Video footage shows scuffles breaking out and driver blockading the port Many have been stranded at the port town since Sunday when the border was closed due to fears over the out of control new coronavirus strain. The ban was lifted last night but drivers must test negative at a huge pop up testing site at Manston Airport , which is now full, before they make the trip.
