Seifert was part of Kolkata Knight Riders squad for IPL 2021
IPL 2021 was postponed after several players tested positive for COVID-19
Kiwi batsman Tim Seifert has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be travelling back to New Zealand on the charter flight with New Zealand s other Indian Premier League (IPL) players, support staff and commentators. Seifert, who represented the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL, failed both his pre-departure PCR tests and as a result will be taken into quarantine. Immediate advice is that he is experiencing moderate symptoms.
One of the two charter flights transporting New Zealand s IPL contingent back home has already departed India, and the other will leave this evening (NZ time) after being delayed for logistical reasons.
Lockdown weary holidaymakers looking to escape this summer could face delays of up to ten hours at airports when they arrive back in the UK, a union has warned today.

Tui will offer British holidaymakers cut-price Covid tests following the government’s announcement earlier this week that vaccine passports would not be ready in time for the resumption of international travel.
The British airline said it would slash the cost of mandatory PCR tests for travellers returning to the UK to £20 under new plans to drive up summer bookings.
Government approved PCR tests for holidaymakers returning to Britain currently range anywhere between £60 and £120.
The company said it will make a series of testing packages available to customers from next Monday, including one for £20 for those travelling back to the UK from countries on the government’s travel green list.

NEW DELHI: New Zealand cricketers involved in the now suspended IPL, including captain Kane Williamson, are likely to remain in India at least till May 10 before flying to England for national duty, their players union chief said on Wednesday.
The remaining players as well as the support staff in various IPL teams and commentators could return home by charter flights arrange by the franchises, New Zealand Cricket Players Association head Heath Mills said.
Mills is expecting a revision in the travel restrictions for incoming travellers from India by the British government.
