A class-action lawsuit filed in the UK wants to force Apple to compensate users for potentially inflated app prices.
Until recently, Apple took a 30 percent commission on all app sales. Most app developers feel the cut is unjustifiable and critics believe that it’s an abuse of Apple’s market dominance.

Apple users in the UK reportedly filed a collective legal action targeting the company’s 30 per cent commission on App Store purchases, claiming the policy stifles competition and reaps excessive profit.
BBC News reported the action was filed with the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) and, if approved, could result in Apple being liable for damages of up to £1.5 billion. The case covers up to 20 million UK consumers who made a purchase from the App Store since October 2015.
Consumers reportedly claimed Apple intentionally restricted competition and abused its market dominance through its commission.

Apple is facing another lawsuit, and this time it s a big collective one in the UK.
Filed on behalf of almost 20 million iPhone and iPad users, the case claims that Apple s 30 percent commission charged on App Store purchases is excessive and unlawful and that the company s practices breach competition law in the UK and Europe.
The case, if approved by the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT), will seek damages of up to £1.5 billion, and will include around 19.6 million users eligible for compensation in the UK.Â

NEWCASTLE OWNER MIKE Ashley has claimed “dark forces” are preventing the club from becoming a football “powerhouse” after it said an HMRC investigation into its tax affairs has been dropped.
Ashley’s comments came just hours after it was revealed Newcastle have taken the Premier League to the Competition Appeal Tribunal over the collapse of the takeover of the club last year.
