LONDON, May 5. /TASS/. Chief diplomats of the G7 countries have urged North Korea to denuclearize and rejoin the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), reads the joint statement adopted on Wednesday following a meeting of top diplomats of the G7 countries. We call on the DPRK to refrain from provocative actions and to engage in a diplomatic process with the explicit goal of denuclearisation. We remain committed to the goal of complete, verifiable and irreversible abandonment of all of the DPRK’s unlawful Weapons of Mass Destruction and ballistic missile programmes in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions (UNSCRs), the document notes.

These four countries, which share the G7’s open and democratic values, were invited by the Prime Minister to attend the G7 Summit as guests. UK Digital Secretary Oliver Dowden welcomed their support as he chaired the second day of the G7 Digital and Tech Ministerial meeting.
It comes as the G7 signed a Ministerial Declaration yesterday which includes new agreements on internet safety, digitising trade, data free flow with trust, competition and digital technical standards.
The declaration sets out an ambitious vision for the role of technology in the world, including how it can support human rights and fundamental freedoms and address pressing challenges, such as the global recovery from COVID-19.

G7 Ambassadors welcome promotion of new legislation ensuring NABU s independence, operational effectiveness 1 min read
The ambassadors of the G7 countries met with chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy Anastasia Radina and members of the committee to discuss future legislation to combat corruption and ensure the rule of law. On NABU, Ambassadors welcomed the committee s efforts to promote new legislation that ensures NABU s independence & operational effectiveness, and is compatible with Ukraine s undertakings to the IMF, the UK Presidency of the G7 Ambassadors Support Group in Kyiv said on Twitter on Thursday.
They expressed hope that laws passed by the Rada would meet these criteria.
