Premier Miton ropes in ASI deputy for European equity income launch
Will James takes charge of fund group’s first European equity income fund
Premier Miton has roped in Aberdeen Standard Investments European equities deputy head Will James to launch its first European equity income strategy.
James, who was a manager on the £663.8m ASI Europe ex-UK Income Equity fund, will work closely with Premier Miton’s equity team led by Gervais Williams (pictured) on the strategy.
Premier Miton said it would announce further details in due course but revealed the strategy would apply an active, bottom up, through-cycle approach to equity income investing, while making sure ESG factors are integrated throughout the process.

Premier Miton Investors has appointed Will James, previously deputy head of European equities at Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI), to manager its new European equity income fund.
In his new role, he will work closely with the firm s equity team led by Gervais Williams. At ASI, James ran the ASI Europe ex UK Income Equity strategy.

Among the funds to lose its rating include ASI Europe ex UK Income Equity, formerly run by Will James

Square Mile Investment Consulting and Research has removed or suspended the ratings on six funds in December as a result of “a high level of fund manager departures across the industry”.
Funds from Jupiter, Aberdeen Standard Investments, Invesco, Saracen Fund Managers and Stewart Investors have suffered this fate, as the firms have recently lost various investment managers or teams.
