An elderly Jamaican cancer patient who is facing deportation from the United Kingdom (UK) is fearing that he will die if he is sent back to the island of his birth, due to his inability to afford healthcare on the Caribbean island.
Seventy-four-year-old Lewin Williams has been a resident of Birmingham, UK since 2003 after he went to that country from Jamaica on a visitor s visa which expired in June 2004, according to the UK Mirror newspaper.
Williams, however, is said to have somehow thought that he had settled status in the UK.
To survive in that country, the Jamaican has earned money by doing gardening for several persons.
