Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon condemned the UK Home Office for removing a group of people from their Glasgow home during Eid Al Fitr.
Hundreds of people surrounded an immigration enforcement van when it arrived at the property on Thursday.
They chanted “leave our neighbours” and “let them go” as they attempted to remove people.
Ms Sturgeon said she was “deeply concerned” about the raids taking place during Eid.
“As constituency member of the Scottish Parliament, I am deeply concerned by this action by the Home Office, especially today in the heart of a community celebrating Eid,” she said.

NICOLA Sturgeon blasted a dangerous and unacceptable immigration raid in Glasgow which has led to a huge protest.
The First Minister demanded answers from the Home Office after angry locals blocked an immigration enforcement van from leaving Kenmure Street in Pollokshields at around 9:55am this morning.

Over 300 people chanted “Let them go, they are our neighbours” and “until our people are free, we won’t leave” after cops formed a ring of steel around the motor, believed to be holding two men.
A NEW campaign has been launched by the Internet Watch Foundation s (IWF) to help raise awareness of child sexual abuse prevention. The IWF s data shows 11 to 13-year-old girls are increasingly at risk of grooming and coercion at the hands of online predators. In 2020, they confirmed 68,000 cases of self-generated imagery, a rise of 77 per cent on 2019 and self-generated imagery accounts for nearly half the imagery they took action on last year. In 80 per cent of these cases, the victims were 11 to 13-year-old girls. A spokesperson said: The hard-hitting campaign, backed by the UK Home Office and Microsoft, aims to empower girls, and warn their parents and carers, about the risks posed by online predators targeting children.
Hong Kong property defies gloomy predictions

NHS Education for Scotland has awarded AWS a £15m contract to host its National Digital Platform, an architecture to share data across the nation s health service.
The education and training body within NHS Scotland said that the platform would be designed to create and deploy real time data at the point of care , operate to a predictable architecture to enable new and innovative products to be developed and implemented as well as enable the use of data at scale for quality improvement and to support research and innovation , according to a tender notice.
