Why strict policies, not Confucian values, explain East Asia s Covid-19 success

The UK government announced this week that it will institute a system of hotel quarantine for some arrivals from abroad, almost a year after several other countries including South Korea, Taiwan and New Zealand imposed such policies. UK court grants bail for Jamaican recently set for deportation flight

A Jamaican-born man who was being held in detention since the cancellation of his deportation to the island from United Kingdom (UK), has been ordered to be granted bail. The man, who is alleged to be a drug dealer and has only been identified as RS , was initially one of 50 persons who were set to board a UK Home Office charter fight to Jamaica on December 2, 2020, according to the UK Daily Mail newspaper. Since that time, the Jamaican, who was previously jailed for seven and a half years for dealing in Class A drugs, has remained in custody at an immigration detention centre while the Home Office prepares for another deportation flight that could take place early this year.
