Socialist Equality Party launches campaign for 2021 German federal election
“Workers need their own party!”
The Sozialistische Gleichheitspartei (Socialist Equality Party, SGP) began its campaign for the 2021 German federal elections in September with a strong launch meeting Sunday, which was followed by hundreds of workers and young people online. SGP candidates and several international guest speakers outlined the extent of the capitalist crisis and presented a socialist answer.
The nine speeches made clear that the ruling elite has declared war on the working class around the world. They have sacrificed hundreds of thousands of lives to protect their profits, are preparing for large-scale warfare, and are resorting to authoritarian and ultimately fascist methods to impose their policies.

America has endured the worst public health crisis in a century, 70 million claims for unemployment, trillions of dollars in borrowed “stimulus,” civil unrest, a belligerent communist China, convoys of illegal immigrants on their way to the border, which begs the question what exactly is the priority of the Biden administration?
Apparently, impeaching the former president in an attempt to divide the GOP by splintering the MAGA and establishment Republicans, while simultaneously signing a record number of presidential executive orders is.
Call it unity – Biden style, which offers platitudes about bipartisanship and national harmony, while delivering leftist executive orders on a historic scale.
Workers in every country around the world confront the same problems and can only oppose exploitation, militarism and fascism by uniting. This is why the SGP’s election campaign is not restricted to Germany, but addresses itself to workers throughout Europe!
Trade war erupts over vaccine supplies between Europe and UK
With last night’s announcement by the European Union (EU) banning the export of vaccines to Northern Ireland, the nationalist conflict over access to vaccines has developed into a trade war between the EU and the UK.
Earlier this week, vaccine manufacturer AstraZeneca informed the EU that it could not fulfill its pledge of 100 million vaccine doses by March. It expects to provide only 31 million doses in this period, with further delays expected for 200 million more on order. The company cited problems in production at its manufacturing site in Belgium.
Israeli human rights organization declares Israel an apartheid state
B’Tselem, one of Israel’s foremost human rights organisations, has issued a report stating that Israel is not a democracy but an “apartheid regime” that enforces Jewish supremacy over the Palestinians in all the land it controls.
It confirms not only what critics of Israel’s brutal suppression of the Palestinians have long been saying, but also the historic bankruptcy and reactionary culmination of the Zionist project and all such nationalist programs.
In the 1967 War, Israel seized the West Bank and East Jerusalem, previously under Jordanian rule, and Gaza, previously administered by Egypt and under blockade by Israel since 2007. Collectively they are home to more than five million Palestinians.
