There s a myth that young people get anxious or depressed when people talk about the reality of the climate crisis.
My experience is the opposite.
The worst part is denial, looking away, downplaying or spreading false hope saying ”we ll fix this” without taking sufficient action. Greta Thunberg (@GretaThunberg) December 28, 2020
Maddie Cole in eighth grade stopped running cross country. She’d competed the year before, but the air quality in her native Sacramento was so bad that she got sick during a race; she soon learned she had asthma.

Exclusive: Enviva CEO John Keppler on green energy souces and Covid-related challenges
John Keppler has been chairman and CEO of Enviva since 2004
City A.M.‘s Michiel Willems sat down with John Keppler, the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Enviva, the world’s largest producer of sustainable wood bioenergy.
Some observers claim that biomass is not as green as it ought to be. What do you say to those critics?
Instead of focusing on division we are focused on the consensus from the scientific and academic community that if the UK and EU are going to get to net-zero, you have to have biomass as a part of the renewable energy mix. McCarthy led the Environmental Protection Agency under former President Barack Obama and is currently chief executive of the Natural Resources Defense Council.

Researchers are still developing the vaccines that will hopefully curb the virus that has already killed over a million people worldwide. The economic impact of the virus has also been felt worldwide, where global GDP is expected to contract by almost 5% this year (as compared to the .1% year-on-year global GDP contraction, which occurred during the Great Recession). However, as jarring as 2020 has been, this year’s trials will pave the way for future global change.
The global emissions decline at the start of the pandemic hints at the work that must be done to curb emissions by the end of the century. The collective global experiment with remote work hint at more workplace flexibility in the years to come. In healthcare, both experiments with robot workers as well as the development of the world’s first mRNA vaccines speak to future possibilities within the field
