The Committee on Enforced Disappearances this afternoon concluded its consideration of a report submitted by Colombia containing additional information under article 29 (4) of the Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance on measures taken to implement its provisions.
Committee Experts pointed out that despite the signature of the peace agreement, enforced disappearances continued in Colombia. They asked the delegation to clarify what kind of databases contained information on persons allegedly subjected to forced disappearance in the country, both in the context of the conflict and outside it. This position is located in the Grants Management Unit of the Donor Relations Section (DRS), Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Branch, Humanitarian Financing and Resource Mobilization Division, Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) located in Geneva. OCHA is the part of the United Nations Secretariat responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to emergencies and natural disasters.
