Former Maharashtra hockey player NA Sundermurthy, 92, passed away.
Sundermurthy represented Maharashtra for two decades and was part of the Indian team s camp for the Rome Olympics. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Rejecting Pakistan s allegations, India said there was no firing from the Indian side, and prior information of movement of UN convoys is given to both sides so the question of firing does not arise.

India on Friday rejected allegations levelled by Pakistan over the attack on a UN convoy as false and factually incorrect . During the weekly press briefing, Pakistan s Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri claimed that a UN convoy vehicle was damaged in a firing incident by the Indian forces at the border areas of Chirikot sector in Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir (PoK) . India has rejected the allegations, saying there was no firing from the Indian side.

Pakistan accused the Indian military on Friday of shooting at a vehicle carrying two officers from the United Nations Military Observer Group.
Dawn quoted Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri as claiming that Indian border forces engaged in “unprovoked firing” near Kashmir at U.N. officials traveling to meet victims of alleged Indian ceasefire violations. According to Chaudhri, the shooting resulted in damage to the vehicle, but the officials escaped unhurt.
“The reprehensible act of unprovoked firing by India on the UNMOGIP officers is indicative of a new low in the conduct of Indian occupation troops,” Chaudhri said.
Pakistan summons Indian envoy over deliberate targeting of UN vehicle at LoC

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Indian Chargé d’Affaires was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Saturday to register Pakistan’s strong protest at the deliberate targeting of Observers belonging to the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP).
The UN Observers were on their way to Polas village in Azad Jammu & Kashmir on December 18 to meet with the victims of the Indian ceasefire violations in Chirikot Sector of the Line of Control (LOC).
Both the Observers present in the vehicle thankfully remained unharmed and were safely rescued and evacuated to Rawalakot by the Pakistan army. However, their vehicle sustained damage.

The reports emerging from the Pakistan side regarding the Indian Army targeting the UN vehicle in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) are completely false and factually incorrect, said India while responding to Islamabad`s claim that India had specifically targeted the vehicle.
According to sources, the Indian Army has denied reports about it targeting United Nations Military Observers` vehicle in PoK.
