Shares Global Compact Network Kenya has recognized Ms. Judith Odhiambo, as part of the 2020 United Nations Global Compact Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) pioneers campaign. Ms. Odhiambo is a business leader who is championing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and inspiring others to advance the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Selected from over seventeen nominations, the Network announced Ms. Judith Sidi Odhiambo, Group Head Corporate and Regulatory Affairs at KCB Group, as its SDGs Pioneer. As the winner of the national round, Ms. Odhiambo will now compete in the global round along with other candidates for the title of 2020/21 UN Global Compact SDG Pioneers. The global winners will be announced at the 2021 Virtual Leaders’ Summit.

Today, Africa will have its own data, this will allow us to disprove several myths about migration, said Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita at a ceremony he co-chaired with the AU Commissioner for Social Affairs, Amira El Fadil. The AMO s mission will be to collect, analyse and exchange data across an interconnected system linking African countries to improve migration policies that are often ineffective due to a lack of data , according to the inauguration document.

VF Corp. announced on Human Rights Day, Dec. 10, its support and commitment to the goals of the United Nations Global Compact and the Women’s Empowerment Principles. The UNGC is a voluntary initiative, and its 10 principles are based on commitments for executives to support human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption goals. VF, the parent company of Vans, The North Face, Timberland and Dickies, will submit annual communications on its progress with these U.N. guidelines, said VF Interior Director, Government Affairs and Global Impact, and Human Rights Julie Sutton. “The social and environmental issues exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic have been extraordinary, and we believe, now more than ever, that business has a crucial role to play in respecting human rights and protecting the environment,” she said.
