As a party to the Paris Agreement on climate change, the UK submitted its first Adaptation Communication to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on 12 December 2020. This report sets out what the UK is doing to prepare for the effects of climate change at home and to support those facing impacts overseas.
As well as the UK’s Adaptation Communication, which focuses on action the UK is taking to adapt to climate change, the UK is also publishing its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and a Finance Biennial Communication. Taken together, these demonstrate the mitigation, adaptation, and finance pillars of the Paris Agreement.

The campaign was launched by C40, a network of megacities committed to realising the goals of the Paris Agreement.
Other C40 cities expected to participate in the green lighting initiative are Austin, Boston, Lisbon, New York City, San Francisco, Venice, Paris and Seoul.
Singapore has set a target of peaking emissions in 2030

The Enhanced Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), which aims to peak emissions at 65 Metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MTCO2e) around 2030, and
