DALLAS, April 21, 2021 /3BL Media/ - In celebration of Earth Day, EarthX is proud to broadcast the SC1.5NCE NOT SILENCE Forum. The event will broadcast on EarthxTV which was just launched on an OTT platform in time for Earth Day programming. Hosted by March For Science and YOUNGO (the official youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), the international event is being organized to build support for the IPCC 1.5C Special Report which has been blocked from being formally welcomed at the past two annual United Nations Climate Change Conferences (COP24 and COP25).
The Department of Finance (DOF) said that local government units (LGUs) should perform in transforming the country’s most congested cities into walkable, pedestrian-friendly communities.
In a statement, Finance Secretary Carlos G. Dominguez III has underscored the key role of LGUs in creating green, safe and comfortable public spaces in their respective localities.
He then lauded the core convenors of the Green EDSA Movement for setting the example for LGUs and other sectors by spearheading the “green” makeover of EDSA, which was launched on Thursday, April 22, to coincide with the global celebration of Earth Day.
“I wish this Movement success in this brave effort to make EDSA a greener and therefore a kinder place for our people. May this be a shining example of an empowered people’s initiative to build a sustainable and healthier future for our country,” Dominguez said.

In his press briefing on Thursday, Roque said there were still ways the people can help protect the environment despite the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Sa panahon ng pandemya, makakatulong ang lahat kahit sa munting paraan tulad ng pagtatapon nang wasto ng pinaggamitan na face mask at face shields (During this time of the pandemic, we can still help in our own little ways like the proper disposal of used face masks and face shields),” he said.
“Gawin natin ito at ituro sa ating mga bata (Let us do that and teach it to our children),” he added.
