However, when it comes to building new business and driving the economy, the island is very much focused on the future. This is evident at Orkney Harbour where a masterplan is charting exciting new routes, with a £230 million infrastructure vision to position Orkney at the forefront of the drive for a cleaner, greener Scotland. “Having launched in August, the masterplan is in phase one with a focus on the design of facilities that will provide the future framework for not only our operations but Orkney as a whole,” says Paul Olvhoj, Business Development Manager at Orkney Harbour Authority.
