The government is thinking of hiring influential US TV channel CNN International Commercial (CNNIC) to promote Bangladesh globally.
CNNIC made a proposal to the government in this regard on February 22, when the United Nations Committee for Development Policy recommended Bangladesh s graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status, said a letter issued by CNNIC.
It proposed to sign a deal titled Understanding on CNN International Commercial partnership opportunity to brand Bangladesh Globally for ministry of commerce, Bangladesh .
Taking consideration of building image and branding the country, the ministry of commerce (MoC) forwarded the letter seeking the prime minister s approval just four days after receiving the proposal from CNNIC.

The government is going to team up with US-based CNN International Commercial for showcasing Bangladesh s achievements on the global stage.

DHAKA, March 6, 2021 (BSS) â Foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today said it is a good year for Bangladesh as the county was recommended for graduating from Least Developed Country (LDC) status while celebrating 50 years of its Independence and âMujib Borshoâ.
âThis is year of good news. Itâs big achievement for Bangladesh as we are set to celebrate 50 years of our Independence with ongoing celebration of birth centenary of our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,â he said while talking about Bangladeshâs graduation from the LDC status.
The United Nations Committee for Development Policy recommended Bangladeshâs graduation from LDC last month.
