Global Programme on Countering Terrorist Threats launched with Qatar funding  24 Jan 2021 - 8:02 QNA New York: The Global Programme on Countering Terrorist Threats against Vulnerable Targets has been launched with funding from the State of Qatar as part of its strong partnership with parties to the Global Strategy for coordinating the cooperation with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, within the framework of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy. Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations H E Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani underlined that the State of Qatar realises this responsibility and follows a comprehensive approach to preventing and combating threats of terrorism and dealing with advanced threats; while paying special attention to the protection of vulnerable targets, expressing confidence that the Global Programme launched today will be key to achieving these goals.

International Migrants Day Seoul, Republic of Korea – The IOM Republic of Korea (ROK) Mission and Korea s Migration Research and Training Center (MRTC), hosted the ‘Plural+ Screening and Talk Show’ on International Migrants Day, 18 December. Plural+ Youth Video Festival was jointly initiated in 2009 by the IOM and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) with a network of more than 50 partner organizations around the globe. To encourage and empower global youth to explore today’s pressing issues of migration, diversity and the prevention of xenophobia through multimedia production, PLURAL+ invites young people of up to 25 years old to submit original and creative short films.  

FIAS joins United Nations Alliance of Civilizations campaign

FIAS joins United Nations Alliance of Civilizations campaign Tuesday, 22 December 2020 The International Sambo Federation (FIAS) has signed up to the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) One Humanity campaign. The FIAS has joined the Global Association of International Sports Federations and a number of International Federations in signing up for the campaign, which calls for solidarity, compassion and unity in the face of discrimination and division. It has been launched by UNAOC, which works to achieve a number of sustainable development goals including no poverty, zero hunger, reduced inequalities, good health and well-being, and peace, justice and strong institutions.  Through the campaign, the FIAS will demonstrate its commitment to a peaceful and inclusive society through a series of initiatives, and video messages.
