Brave nun stands between police and protestors during brutal crackdown in Myanmar06/03/2021|4min In a moment of breathtaking courage, a Catholic nun has stood between armed police and protesters amid violent clashes in Myanmar. At least 50 pro-democracy protestors have been killed since the military coup which overthrew Myanmar’s democratically elected government on February 1. Sister Anna Roza Nu Tawn knelt in front of police and desperately pleaded with the officers not to shoot in what has been described as Myanmar’s “Tiananmen moment”. “There’s no one to protect Myanmar’s people,” she said. “People have to defend themselves and help each other as we can’t trust anyone.

David Curry, the president of the Christian persecution watchdog organization Open Doors USA, told The Christian Post in a recent interview that removing the terror designation applied by the Trump administration in 2018 is a “mistake” that will only “embolden” Houthi militia.
