Bangladeshi companies interact with Japanese firms in 17-day online event

DHAKA, May 26, 2021 (BSS) – Thirty leading Bangladeshi companies are participating in more than 309 Business to Business (B2B) meetings with the Japanese firms through a 17-day online business matching event.
The business matching event began on Monday and it will continue up to June 11, said a press release.
United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO),Tokyo has organised the program with the support of Bangladesh Embassy in Japan and Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI).
HAISON International, an investor advisory firm of Bangladesh is coordinating the program.

Vienna, May 26 (Prensa Latina) Cuba on Wednesday requested to the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) more resources for Latin America and the Caribbean in the fight against Covid-19.
The region only received 11 million of the 111 million dollars raised by the Organization from voluntary contributions of the States, detailed the third secretary of Cuba s mission in Vienna, Marlen Redondo, during the 37th session of the Program and Budget Committee.
We emphasize that, due to the pandemic, Latin America and the Caribbean faced the worst crisis on record and the greatest economic contraction in the developing world, Redondo said.

Gold mining in Nigeria is predominantly carried out by licenced small-scale miners and informal artisanal miners.
Due to the informal component of gold mining activities, the exploitation of the resources in the country was associated with a lot of illicit activities that gave rise to insecurity.
