BENIN CITY – The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki on Tuesday restated that the ongoing enumeration exercise tagged Data to Make Edo Great Again (Data to MEGA) would aid development planning, foster socio-economic development and improve the livelihoods of the state’s residents.
Obaseki said this when he received the Country Director of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Jean Bakole, who led members of his delegation on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Benin City.
The governor noted that the enumeration exercise “is a programme where we have over 1,200 young men and women trained to collect data from the people for social interventions and economic planning.

UNIDO works to scale up the ICT start-up ecosystem in Iran
TEHRAN, 16 February 2021 - Together with its national counterparts from the Information Technology Organization of Iran’s Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies and in partnership with the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is taking the next step to implement the project, “Promoting and upscaling innovative SMEs in the Islamic Republic of Iran”.
The project aims to nurture the entrepreneurial ecosystem for ICT start-ups and scale-ups through international exposure and fostering technology and know-how exchange. In this context, a comprehensive dialogue between governmental institutions and leaders in the private sector has been launched, thereby providing a mechanism for Iranian startups to connect with institutional actors and successfully start scaling up.

Dubai: Dubai will host the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS 2021) from November 22 to 27. This is the second time the event is returning to the UAE – Abu Dhabi hosted the 2017 summit.
“We are confident that hosting the Summit alongside Expo Dubai will give impetus to this important event that promotes cross-border collaboration to shape the future of industries,” said Dr. Sultan Al-Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology.
