Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) announced approval for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to be saved at refrigerator temperatures – between two and eight degrees Celsius – for as much as 31 days.

The new storage situation will drastically facilitate the transportation and native distribution of the vaccine to vaccination centres, in addition to their storage and use at the centres, an HSA press release stated.

Previously the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine needed to be stored at temperatures of -70 degrees, limiting its distribution to vaccination hubs with special cold storage facilities. It can now be kept for up to 31 days at between 2-8°C, after being taken out of deep-freeze conditions.

SINGAPORE: Singapore s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) has given its approval for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to be stored at refrigerator temperatures – between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius – for up to 31 days.
