Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum closing, citizens called on to save it -

Miramar’s commanding officer from the United State Marine Corps announced the decision. Typically, Marine aviation historians and veterans pool together their efforts to keep the museum running. Museum operators are imploring citizens to call their local members of U.S. Congress to take action and save this landmark local museum. Links and contact information are available here. As of now, the museum is open to the public Fridays through Sundays from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. until March 28. Parking and admission are free. The new finance director for the city of Corvallis grew up in St. Louis, where he was an honor student and class officer. He was expected to go to college. Instead, he enlisted in the United State Marine Corps because he wanted to travel. Once in the Marines, Seidl qualified for the exclusive ceremonial and security detail that accompanies the president when traveling on the Marine One helicopter. Seidl visited 20 countries in a four-year stint from 1996-2000 with President Bill Clinton and proudly wears his presidential service badge on the lapel of his coat.

Jan 12, 2021 CAMPBELL Michael “Gros” Cvengros was called to his eternal home on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at the age of 73. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife, Jean, and children, Mike and Cindy, by his side. Michael was born March 29, 1947, to the late Helen and Michael Cvengros. He graduated from Campbell Memorial in 1965 and went on to serve in the United State Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968. In 1974, he married the love of his life, Jean. Michael worked at the Diamond Tavern in Campbell and later retired from the Mahoning County Engineer’s Office. He enjoyed time at the lake, weekly grocery shopping trips and grilling. Michael also loved taking his grandsons to the movies, working around the yard and watching Ohio State football. He was a kind and loving man who always enjoyed sharing a laugh with family and friends.

BLISSFIELD — Blissfield was one of more than 2,500 communities across the United States that gathered Saturday for the "Wreaths Across America Day" ceremonies.Residents gathered in Pleasant View Cemetery at noon to pay tribute to the servicemen and women who have died.
