Hojai (Assam)[India], April 1 (ANI): Assam recorded a voter turnout of 22.85 per cent till 11.20 am across 39 constituencies in 13 districts during the second phase of the state assembly polls, according to the Election Commission (EC).
The Rangia constituency in the state has witnessed the highest voting percentage with a voter turnout of 35.58 per cent till 11.18 am, while the Lumding constituency witnessed the lowest voting percentage with a voter turnout of just 8.67 per cent each.
Highlights The fate of 345 candidates in 39 constituencies across 13 districts will be decided in this phase of voting.
The polling for the last phase will be held on April 6.
New Delhi: The voter turnout on Thursday (April 1) during the second round of the three-phased Assam assembly elections stood at 48.26 per cent at 1 pm.
As per PTI, out of 73.45 lakh voters, 48.26 per cent exercised their franchise till 1 pm in 39 assembly seats where polling is underway in the second phase.
The Nowgowg constituency witnessed the highest voting percentage with a voter turnout of 54.10 per cent till 1.10 pm, while the Jagiroad constituency witnessed the lowest voting percentage with a mere 18.2 per cent showing up till the aforementioned time.

Polling began at 7 am on Thursday for 39 seats in the second phase of assembly elections in Assam amid tight security, officials said. The fate of 345 candidates, including 26 women, is being decided by over 73.44 lakh voters in this phase. Among those contesting the elections in this phase are five ministers and the deputy speaker of the outgoing House.
