STEPTOE & JOHNSON PLLC: Steptoe & Johnson Celebrates Career of Retiring Partner Patrick Deem

By Steptoe & Johnson PLLC issued the following announcement on Jan. 13. Patrick D. Deem has been practicing law for more than 50 years.  This year his career will end where it began, with Steptoe & Johnson.  In honor of his long-time service, Steptoe & Johnson donated a painting to the Art Museum of WVU, a cause that Deem and his wife Alison have supported for many years.  Deem’s colleagues recently celebrated his retirement in a virtual ceremony and unveiled the artwork, an early 20th Century painting by Inez McCurdy titled “West Virginia Hills.”     “Pat’s long career is a testament to the exemplary service he has provided to clients, particularly in the banking and energy sectors,” said firm CEO Christopher L. Slaughter.  “Much of the firm’s growth throughout the last few decades would not have happened without his influence. He has been a stalwart advocate for the firm, the legal profession, and the causes he supports.”

From those doctors and nurses in the rooms with those battling the disease, to those EMS and first responders who encounter victims on a daily basis, all have played a role in helping to combat and mitigate the deadly virus.
