Nine children rescued in Philippines after Australian accused paedophile s arrest

Nine children have been rescued in the Philippines following the arrest of an accused paedophile in Australia.  The lives of the kids, aged between two and 16 years, changed forever when the man from small town regional Victoria, 61, was stopped at the Australian border in November 2019. Authorities suspected the Victorian man of child sex crimes and allegedly found sexual conversations on his phone where he asked about girls ages.  That sparked a Federal Police raid on his home near the Victorian-New South Wales border.  There, officers found videos of the man allegedly raping underage Filipino girls. The Victorian was charged and his case is before the courts.

GGRAsia – China travel advisories likely short lived: MGM China COO

There was “reason to be optimistic” about the first-quarter outlook for the Macau gaming market, said on Wednesday Hubert Wang, president and chief operating officer (COO) of MGM China Holdings Ltd. There was in particular, “no reason to believe” advisory notices to limit out-of-province travel in mainland China after new Covid-19 cases, “will stay in place for a long period of time,” added the executive. Mainland China is the only place to have a largely quarantine-free travel bubble with Macau. Mr Wang was speaking on the fourth-quarter earnings call of MGM China’s parent, United States-based MGM Resorts International. Mr Wang noted that MGM China had been “cash flow positive” each month in the fourth quarter, against the backdrop of travel restrictions between the mainland and Macau easing from late September.
