Share Richard “Dick” Gantnier SACO – Richard “Dick” Gantnier, 89, of Saco died Jan. 2, 2021 at his home of more than 50 years surrounded and supported by his family. Richard was born in Portland on Sept. 23, 1931, the son of Albert and Beatrice Berry Gantnier of West Scarborough. He was the oldest of four siblings, Delores Willard, Alice O’Donnell, and Alberta Zadorian, where they grew up in West Scarborough. Richard was a graduate of Scarborough High School in 1948. In 1949 directly after high school, he attended Miss Farmer’s School of Cookery in Boston. As a boy, he was also the very first Eagle Scout in Dunstan Corner Troop 79 receiving the honor in 1950. Richard felt a great sense of pride.

BLISSFIELD — Blissfield was one of more than 2,500 communities across the United States that gathered Saturday for the "Wreaths Across America Day" ceremonies.Residents gathered in Pleasant View Cemetery at noon to pay tribute to the servicemen and women who have died. Wooton to be sworn in as newest state Supreme Court Justice on December 30

CHARLESTON – William R. “Bill” Wooton will be sworn in December 30 as a West Virginia Supreme Court Justice. The ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. in the Supreme Court chambers at the state Capitol. Although invitations were previously extended, because of the COVID Pandemic, the ceremony will now be held virtually by webcast. To protect the health and safety of everyone involved, the public and previously invited guests will not be admitted to participate in person. Those previously invited may participate remotely by tuning in to the live webcast on the West Virginia Judiciary YouTube Channel. Wooton was elected June 9 to the seat being vacated by Justice Margaret Workman, who is retiring effective December 31. He is a native of Raleigh County and was educated in Raleigh County public schools.
