US Army Corps of Engineers Rejects State s Administrative Appeal of Proposed Pebble Mine Project
Sunday PM (SitNews) Anchorage, Alaska - Governor Mike Dunleavy reacted strongly Friday to the decision by United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Pacific Division, to reject the State’s administrative appeal over the agency’s denial of the 404 permit for the proposed Pebble Project in Southwest Alaska. The State strongly disagrees with the determination of the USACE that despite the State having direct surface and mineral ownership interests, the State lacks standing to participate in this matter. The State’s ability to weigh in on these types of matters and represent Alaska’s interests is of great importance to Alaskans and the Alaska economy.

More people than ever are taking up RVing. These newbies have determined that RVing is the safest way to travel in our pandemic times. The result is campground crowding like never before. In this weekly blog, RV Travel readers discuss their experiences. Maybe we can make some sense of this and find ways to work around the problem.

Wastewater Importation and Water Exportation Rule Amendments to be Proposed
West Trenton, NJ The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) today approved a final rule prohibiting high volume hydraulic fracturing (HVHF) in the Basin. In a separate action, the Commissioners directed the executive director to propose amendments to update the Commission’s rules concerning importation of wastewater from outside the basin and exportation of basin waters. The first action was adopted with the four basin state Commissioners voting in the affirmative and the federal Commissioner abstaining. The second action was adopted by unanimous vote of the Commissioners. Both actions were taken at a duly noticed public meeting.

Today, the Delaware Basin River Commission voted to ban fracking in the Delaware River Basin. This decision, years in the making, will protect the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, a unit of the National Park Service, from the harmful, poisonous impacts of fracked water.
The Delaware Basin River Commissioners include Governor John Carney of Delaware, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo of New York, Governor Tom Wolf of Pennsylvania, Governor Phil Murphy of New Jersey, and Brigadier General Thomas J. Tickner of the United States Army Corps of Engineers. All governors voted “aye,” to these new regulations banning fracking, with Brigadier General Tickner abstaining.
