Three people stranded on a deserted island in the Bahamas revealed they survived on coconuts before being rescued by the United States Coast Guard on Tuesday (February 9.)
The U.S. Coast Guard Southeast announced it was assisting the three individuals who were stranded on Anguilla Cay in a video shared on its official Twitter account Tuesday morning. A helicopter crew initially discovered the two men and a woman waving a makeshift flag during a routine air patrol around the chain of islands, which are located between the Florida Keys and Cuba,
The Coast Guard told the NTSB this week that it was agreeing with seven recommendations for major changes, including mandatory checks on roving watches, better smoke detector systems, mandatory safety management systems and improved emergency exits.
