330 Navy civilian employees transfer to Air Force
Approximately 330 full-time civilian employees currently assigned to support Andersen Air Force Base will administratively transfer from the Navy to the Air Force April 11.

Adm. William K. Lescher and Assistant Commandant of the United States Marine Corps
Gen. Gary L. Thomas, signed a new Joint Base Memorandum of Agreement to change the joint region construct returning selected 18 of 44 installation support functions to the Air Force at Andersen AFB.
“This change will improve Andersen (AFB)’s ability to build multi-capable Airmen now and into the future as we work to further operationalize the base,” said
Vince Fumanti, of Prior Lake (formerly from the Iron Range), passed away unexpectedly on April 3, 2021, at the age of 66.
Vincent Paul Fumanti was born to parents, Victor and Verna (Bailey) Fumanti, on Sept. 30, 1954. He was the youngest of three and loved growing up in Hibbing with his sisters, Vivian and Vickie. A wanderer by nature, he lived in many places, but his heart never left the Iron Range.
Upon graduation from High School, Vince enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged. He was once, and always will be, a Devil Dog.
