Kibben brings decades of decorated experience in the military and the ministry, as a retired Rear Admiral who served as the U.S. Navy s Chief Chaplain and the chaplain of the Marine Corps, Pelosi said in a statement. Her integrity, experience and patriotism will serve the Congress and the Country well, as she ministers to the needs of Members.

Deen, Judge Braswell

Judge Braswell Drue Deen, Jr., age 95, passed away December 24, 2020. Braswell was the son of the late U.S. Congressman Braswell Deen, Sr., and Corinne Smith Deen. Braswell graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor of laws degree; practiced law in Alma Georgia and served as county attorney; served four terms in the Georgia General Assembly and authored the Women s Juror bill; was appointed in 1965 by Governor Carl E. Sanders as Judge of the Georgia Court of Appeals where he served until retiring in 1990. Following retirement he continued to work as a mediator and arbitrator, along with teaching classes on Constitutional Law, chess and origins of man through Emory and Oglethorpe Universities, and authored several books. During WWII, Braswell joined the United States Marine Corps and served in the initial invasions of Peleliu and Okinawa Islands. He was wounded by a Japanese knee mortar and received a Purple Heart. Share This: Athletes Jarrid Collins and Stephen “Turbo” Toboz finishing strong at a track meet. The Department of Defense (DoD) holds an annual adaptive-sports competition. The competition highlights the exceptional physical skills and mental toughness of wounded, ill, and injured active-duty and veteran servicemembers. Next year will be the competition’s 11th year. The 2020 games were supposed to be held in San Antonio but were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The U.S. Army will host the 2021 DoD Warrior Games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, in September 2021. Specific dates and details will be released closer to the event.
