PATERSON, NJ - Local veterans, first responders, elected officials, and area residents convened at Veteran’s Memorial Park at Hayden Heights to honor military veterans, including many who lost their lives for liberty, on Memorial Day.
Hosted by the Paterson Veterans Council, and led by its president Tony Vancheri, the annual event was inaugurated by the reading of, “A Prayer for Our Veterans,” while a color guard stood at attention nearby. Speaking to an audience that included family members of former soldiers who had lost their lives in combat, as well as those who have fought in various wars, Vancheri stressed unity.
